Easy Homemade Gluten-Free Granola Recipe

This is hands down the best recipe you will find anywhere. It is super easy and I guarantee you will love it.

It is not only gluten-free but also doesn't use highly processed oil or sugars.

Using honey, (or maple syrup if you choose,) works wonderfully as it coats the oats perfectly.
You can also use half of the amount of oil and sweetener if you don't want the granola as sweet.

To keep this recipe gluten-free, always choose gluten-free labeled oats.

Why buy store-bought when you can make it easily at home.

Important steps when making granola

  • Like it clumpy?
It is easy to create clumpy granola, especially if you like to grab a handful to munch on. It isn't hard to have chunks, simply press the granola down with a spatula before placing it in the oven. Mix your granola at the halfway cooking mark. If you want larger clumps, press down once again after you take it out of the oven and let it cool. After it has cooled down, break apart to desired sizes.
  • When is the granola done? When you make sure to bake it at a low temperature it helps dry out the granola and you won't have to worry about it being overbake. Note: that the granola will still look wet straight out of the oven. It will dry and stick together as it cools. It is done when the granola is lightly toasted.
  • Add any fruit after you bake It is fine to toast the nuts with the granola, but you will want to add any dried fruit after cooking the granola so it doesn't burn in the pan.

Best way to store granola

Take completely cooled granola from the pan and store it in a glass airtight container. It will stay good for a month. If it lasts that long!

What can you eat granola with?

Some simple and yummy ideas for your homemade granola are:

  • Sprinkle over yogurt with berries.
  • Eat it like cereal – just add milk or your favorite substitute milk.
  • Add it to your cooked oatmeal for an added crunch.
  • Toss it in your muffin or pancake mix for a delicious texture and crunch.
