The edible seeds of Prunus dulcis are also known as almond trees. Almonds are a mighty nut and have many benefits. They are yummy, nutritious, and rich in healthy fats, antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins.

This super nut contains lots of healthy fats, protein, magnesium, fiber, and vitamin E.

The Benefits of Eating Almonds:

Almonds help with lowering blood pressure. Low magnesium levels are linked to high blood pressure, and eating almonds can lower blood pressure. Magnesium may also ward off type 2 diabetes. Many people have low magnesium levels, and almonds are high in magnesium. We know that magnesium is beneficial for your digestion. Since almonds are high in fiber, their high magnesium content keeps our bowels moving. It neutralizes stomach acid and moves stools through the intestines.

Lower your risk of heart disease. Eating 1/4 cup of almonds daily can reduce your LDL (or bad) cholesterol, which in turn lowers your risk of heart disease.

Almonds are high in fiber and protein and low in carbs. They may be higher in calories, but don't let that stop you from snacking on them. Studies show that eating almonds can promote weight loss.

Making sure you get plenty of vitamin E is linked to numerous health benefits. And, almonds are one of the world's best vitamin E sources.

Who doesn't love slowing down the hands of time? Can almonds do this? Well, sort of! They protect your cells from oxidative stress, which is a significant contributor to aging and disease.
